Munich / Jerusalem (Pressweb) - The international technical services corporation TÜV SÜD and the Standards Institution of Israel (SII) plan to cooperate in the future to facilitate trade with Israel. The two parties have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect in Munich. In phase one, the cooperation will focus on the mutual acceptance of tests and certificates in several product categories.
TÜV SÜD and SII plan to extend their cooperation to all their activities. The main goal of the cooperation is to give Israeli companies better access to international markets and facilitate access to the Israeli market for non-Israeli companies. Through their mutual acceptance of test and inspection results, certificates of conformity and other certificates, TÜV SÜD and SII intend to significantly reduce the costs and efforts incurred by companies and facilitate trade in both directions. To this end, the two parties plan to enter into further agreements that specify the type and scope of cooperation. As the first of these individual agreements, TÜV SÜD and SII signed a product testing and certification agreement in parallel to the MoU. In this agreement, the two cooperation partners undertake to work towards the acceptance of each other's test results in several product categories, including electrical and electronic devices, electrical bicycles, batteries and toys.
"Based on our cooperation with the SII and TÜV SÜD's international network that spans over 800 locations, we can now significantly facilitate access to the Israeli market", says Dr Jens Butenandt, Chief Technical Officer of the Product Service Division at TÜV SÜD.
"In return, Israeli companies can export their products to various international markets without additional tests or certifications and the additional costs and efforts associated therewith ", adds Daniel Goldstein, General Director of the Standards Institution of Israel (SII).
